In den 1960er-Jahren waren Wintersportler und Outdoor-Fans oft gezwungen, auf schwere Militärausrüstung zurückzugreifen – es fehlte an funktionaler, leichter Ausrüstung. Das Ehepaar Tompkins erkannte diese Lücke und eröffnete ein Fachgeschäft für Campingbedarf in San Francisco.

Nur zwei Jahre später ging daraus die erste "The North Face-Fabrik" hervor – der Beginn einer Erfolgsgeschichte im Zeichen des Abenteuers. Seitdem entwickelt die Marke innovative Ausrüstung und Bekleidung für Bergsport, Wintersport und Expeditionen weltweit.

Mit dem Leitmotiv „Never Stop Exploring“ inspiriert "The North Face" Generationen von Entdeckern dazu, Grenzen zu überwinden – mit leistungsstarker Funktion, langlebigen Materialien und kompromisslosem Outdoor-Design.
